My sister was the bridesmaid for her coworkers wedding, so she threw the bridal shower and I helped. We had yummy memosas and of course these oreo truffle pops.
A year passes so quickly, especially with children, and we tend to forget non-eventful days. This blog is for me to stop and cherish those moments.

Time to Monkey around
For J's birthday, I decided to do a Monkey theme and I was so happy on how these turned out.
On The Frosted Cake 'n Cookie blog, she showed how to make the monkey cupcake topper. Thank you!
As for the Monkey Truffle Pop, it took me a couple tries to figure how to make it look like a monkey (my husband was happy with my practice ones) but I was so happy with the end result.

This is what you get
If you decide to spill your drink all over your shirt, you will get a photo that I will share with all your friends when you are in the 'my-family-is-embarrassing' stage.

Happy Birthday to me!
I have been dying to make these two cakes - one completely chocolate with a TON of buttercream frosting and the other a yellow cake covered in chocolate ganache. (I thank Bakerella for the inspiration - she is my hero). On everyone else's birthday I make a cake that they want, so this was the perfect opportunity to make the cake I wanted - and of course two of them. Hey it was my birthday and I was doing the work anyways. :)

Cheese
I didn't realize how hard it is to post a picture a day but I promised myself to capture as much as I could.
Here is S rummaging through my makeup bag. How do little girls know that they should be interested in it. And yes, that is how she smiles.

SeaWorld
I have been dying to go to San Diego's Sea World for as long as I can remember. It was just as awesome as I thought it was going to be. The best part was that I got to experience it with my V, J and S.

Snow again
Am I the only one tired of the snow?
Seems like it. V and J are so excited when they saw how much snow we got

and the outcome ...
A display of cupcakes for S's first birthday party. I must say I was very proud of it but disappointed I didn't get a good picture of it. There were chocolate mousse, red velvet, yellow cake, chocolate and oreo truffle cupcake pops. All decorated a little different. The red velvet had cream cheese frosting, everything else either had vanilla candy melt, chocolate ganache or buttercream frosting. And of course I tucked away plain-no-frosting cupcakes for J.

My spot
Nothing interesting today, so it will be about me. This is where I have been spending most of my late evenings through early mornings.

SNOW DAY ... again.
All schools are closed and I wasn't able to go into work since V was home and the roads were a mess. It was a pajama-wearing kind of a day.

Peek-a-boo and an early birthday
S loves playing peek-a-boo and screaming out "are you?" (her second word. 'Light' was her first).
"S where are you?"
"There you are"
"Where are you?"
Because I have to go into work tomorrow and it is S's real birthday, I decided that as a family we should celebrate S's birthday today. She had no clue how to blow the candle but she new exactly what to do once the candle was out and the cupcake was in her hands. I can't believe my baby will be one tomorrow.
